1 reportedly injured after airboat flips in Florida Everglades

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Several people are out of the water after an airboat flipped on its side in the Florida Everglades Friday afternoon.

According to NBC affiliate WTVJ, the boat overturned near Coopertown, just off Tamiami Trail.

The video shows the airboat partially submerged, on its side in the water.

“This thing is definitely leaking gas or oil,” a person is heard saying.

Officials surrounded the area, blocking off the entrance to the water.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials confirmed to WTVJ that all parties are out of the water. One person was reportedly injured but didn’t require hospitalization.
