If you haven’t been following the Allison Mack / Kristen Kreuk / NXIVM story, here’s a quick rundown that barely scratches the surface of what’s going on.

In a nutshell, Allison Mack – who played Chloe Sullivan in Smallville – was arrested last weekend on sex trafficking charges, after an investigation by the FBI alleged that the actress was recruiting young women to take part in a truly bizarre cult that – per the FBI’s case –  involving actually branding women above the pelvis with a symbol, blackmailing them to have sex with the cult leader Keith Raniere who went by the name Vanguard, and more besides.

The whole movement, which went by the name NXIVM (pronounced Nexium) was touted as a self-help programme – which is how fellow Smallville alum Kristen Kreuk was involved, and then later forced to deny involvement in the more sinister end of it. While Kreuk was probably the most well-known – after Allison Mack, obviously – person attached to the story, People Magazine uncovered old tweets from Mack’s account that showed she was targetting some well-known names – specifically, Emma Watson.

As the tweets below show, Mack sent a number of messages to Watson’s now-deactivated account to try and set up a meeting in 2016. What happened beyond that and whether she responded or contacted Mack is anyone’s guess, but it seems pretty unlikely.

[email protected] I participate in a unique human development & women’s movement I’d love to tell you about. As a fellow actress I can relate so…
