Assistant Project Manager-Construction – Curaleaf – Mount Dora, FL

The Assistant Project Manager -Construction assists the Project Manager and Director of Project Management in all design phases of the construction for Curaleaf’s cultivation and manufacturing sites in Florida. You will be working with design engineers, drafters, technical engineers etc. on multiple projects simultaneously. The assistant project manager compiles project schedules for review and helps oversee construction activities to ensure they are completed on time and within budget. Collaborate with all levels within the organization in order to ensure completion of projects as efficiently and effectively as possible. The Project Manager reports to the Director of Project Management

Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall project management assistance to ensure project goals and deliverables are met
  • Assume total responsibility for a quality-built project delivered on-schedule and within budget
  • Manage and update the project schedule and schedule recovery
  • Assist with overseeing the entire job site construction process, work closely with general contractors
  • Attend relevant internal and external technical meetings and design reviews, as required
  • Insure adherence to building plans, specifications, codes and regulations
  • Insure that the project budget is followed in terms of purchases and labor costs
  • Ensure effective communication with management
  • Communicate clear project expectations to team members in a timely fashion
  • Proactively support changes in project scope, identify risk, and support contingency and risk mitigation plans
  • Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs
  • Travel may be required for retail sites as the needs arise

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Construction or Engineering preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in construction management
  • Project Manager must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, standards, and specifications
  • Needs to exhibit strong leadership and the ability to operate under pressure
  • Must have strong decision-making skills, work well in diverse groups, and exhibit excellent organizational, technical and communication (oral and written) skills

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to individually lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, crouch, reach and lift for long periods of time
  • Must be able to work in retail, manufacturing, or production facilities with moderate to loud noise level and changing working conditions. (May require use of safety equipment or personal protective equipment, as needed)
