Boston Red Sox catcher Christian Vazquez is expected to miss six to eight weeks after undergoing surgery Tuesday to repair a broken pinkie finger, the club announced.

Sandy Leon will take over the team’s regular catching duties, with Blake Swihart also getting some work behind the plate.
