Chris Christie checks himself into hospital after testing positive for COVID-19

Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has checked himself into a hospital after testing positive for COVID-19.

CNN was the first outlet to break the story.

“Christie, who suffers from asthma, said in consultation with his doctor he decided it was best to be monitored in the hospital,” read the CNN report, which was based off a conversation with Christie. “He said he has a slight fever and is achy but felt well enough to drive himself to the hospital.”

Christie eventually tweeted a statement confirming the news.

“In consultation with my doctors, I checked myself into Morristown Medical Center this afternoon,” Christie wrote. “While I am feeling good and only have mild symptoms, due to my history of asthma we decided this is an important precautionary measure.”
