Director of Shared Services (Accounting) – Remote

Reporting to: Corporate Controller

Location: This position is intended to be primarily remote but within driving distance of the Clearwater, Florida office for in-person attendance at training and occasional meetings.

Position Overview

Trulieve, a leading emerging growth company in the cannabis industry, is looking for a Director of Shared Services to fill a key role within the Finance team. The position will manage various aspects of the department and day-to-day financial operations of the company. The Director of Shared Services will be responsible for oversight of Trulieve’s payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. This role will contribute to consolidated financial reporting and support the consolidated audit and Sarbanes-Oxley program. The role will closely interface with functions across the organization and report to the Corporate Controller.


  • Oversight of payroll functions, coordination with Human Resources, performing reviews for both accuracy and analytical purposes, and managing related accounting entries
  • Oversight of accounts payable functions, coordination with departments and reviews of activity
  • Oversight of accounts receivable functions, including establishment of function, credit reviews, and analysis
  • Manage preparation and review of monthly reconciliations analysis
  • Assist in preparing supporting schedules for public company filings (10-Q and 10-K)
  • Gather documentation and support for external auditors for quarterly reviews and audits
  • Answer accounting and financial inquiries by researching and interpreting data
  • Assist in implementing and documenting accounting policies and procedures to ensure all financial transactions are executed in accordance with GAAP
  • Be a key driver in the company’s SOX compliance
  • Manage process implementations and continuous process improvements
  • Participate in integration of acquired businesses
  • Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, participating in special projects, system enhancements or ad-hoc analyses as assigned

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, Business, or related field
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in shared services (payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable), process implementation and improvement and/or accounting for these areas
  • Experience working with external auditors
  • Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
  • Demonstrated success working both individually and within a team in a fast-paced, high-volume, deadline-oriented environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
  • Knowledge of software and systems, particularly Paychex and SAP is a big plus
  • Excellent project management and organization skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, to work effectively cross-functionally and with subsidiaries
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Self-starter and able to quickly learn new responsibilities
  • High attention to detail required
  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background screening
