  • Set guideline and implement processes for valuation of biological, inventory and product cost in a multi-plant multi-state operation
  • Manage the month end close process related to inventory and cost of goods sold across the entire company
  • Prepare the month end, quarterly and year end calculations for inventory and biological assets and support quarterly reviews by the auditors and annual audit
  • Coordinate with operations and IT for the calculation of biomass reconciliation, biological assets and the fair value
  • Work with the financial reporting team for the impact of the inventory and biological assets on the financial statements and financial disclosures
  • Review standard and actual costs and work to improve and implement standard cost estimates
  • Obtain a strong understanding of the company’s ERP system including functionality, costing processes, and integration with the general ledger
  • Analyze and report on product margins, COGS and inventory (obsolete inventory, scrap, yield, raw material/supply costs) on a monthly, and ad-hoc basis
  • Establish and coordinate guidelines for physical inventory and cycle counting process
  • Direct and investigate cycle counting variances and resolve issues, tracing back to underlying activities
  • Monitor and improve internal controls over plant assets including inventory, inventory reserves and manufacturing processes
  • Oversee month end close responsibilities including, but not limited to journal entry preparation and review, reconciliation review and variance analysis
  • Work with the operations team to review and dispose of obsolete inventory, and other projects as necessary
  • Develop suitable reports to provide management visibility on product cost related to various products
  • Proactively lead cost savings initiatives with the operations team
  • Provides ad hoc reports and special project assistance as needed
  • Bachelor’s degree, four years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in accounting, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required
  • Demonstrated experience in public accounting, costing/manufacturing,
  • Experience with IFRS/GAAP reporting requirements as it relates to biological assets, inventory, COGS and to develop product costing for various products
  • Detailed experience in understanding plant operations, cost structure, overhead components, burden rates, company allocations, work centers, routings, bill of materials, and production/work orders
  • Advanced experience in computer operating systems including Microsoft Office; exceptional Excel knowledge and aptitude
  • Experience analyzing various types of cost at plant level that relate to COGS, inventory and production variances, and leading improvements
  • Knowledge of SAP Business 1 or similar ERP flows through company’s general ledger
  • Highly motivated, confident, high-energy. Strong and engaging communicator with a knack for selling candidates; flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability communicate across different levels of an organization
  • Strongly self-motivated, to include studying and maintaining working knowledge of industry standards and trends
  • Adept at mathematics and finance; Able to comprehend basic financial reports and Profit & Loss Statements
  • Strongly self-motivated, to include studying and maintaining working knowledge of industry standards and trends


  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and a clear driving record
  • Must be able to pass a level 1 and level 2 background check and drug screening
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must possess the mental and physical capacities necessary to perform the job duties


  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 lbs. to a minimum height of 5 feet and able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance
  • Must be able to work seated/standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods of time, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stopping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, and use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch frequently/constantly to complete tasks
  • Must have visual acuity with/without job aids to perform activities such as; reading, viewing a computer terminal, visual inspection involving small parts/details. Clarity of vision at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions
  • Must be able to speak and communicate verbally at conversation levels with co-workers, vendors, etc. (Moderate noise)


40+ hours weekly with flexible hours depending on store needs. Must be available to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday. Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure requirements of this position can be fully met.
