As a Fertilizer Production Supervisor, you will work on a team that is responsible for keeping production flowing, meeting performance goals, and maintaining finished product quality standards that Trulieve cultivators, our internal customers expect from our products.

Technicians work with a variety of light or heavy machinery, using their in-depth knowledge to produce goods, make repairs, or join systems together. They may operate control systems, monitor gauges and meters, troubleshoot process failures, resolve breakdowns, and start or stop operations when necessary. Operators are expected utilize production equipment in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.

In addition to process operation, equipment maintenance is a focus as well. Maintenance responsibilities include preventative maintenance scheduling, performing routine inspections to verify that equipment parts are viable and meeting specification, completing routine maintenance work (e.g., rebuilding pumps), and making tool changes or adjustments as necessary to maintain quality standards. Adjustments to machine settings and other tasks must be completed accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion.

Outside of fertilizer production, maintenance responsibilities will include working with fertigation/nutrigation systems where the TruBlend fertilizer formulation is applied.


Environment, Health, and Safety

  • Aid the Site Administrators in compliance with State Law and Department of Health Rules.
  • Observe safety and security procedures: Must have the ability to read, understand, and apply operating procedures (e.g., SOPs).
  • Enter confined spaces while properly filling out confined space and Lock Out, Tag Out (LOTO) documentation.
  • Must be committed to working in a highly safety-conscious environment: PPE is required attire in production areas. Wear required safety personal protective equipment (e.g., eye protection, ear protection, safety shoes).
  • Create Standard Operating Procedures for the Cultivation Division and update as needed.
  • Ensure chemicals and other raw materials are stored properly, maintain a clean work environment free from hazards.
  • Patrol tanks, troughs, basins, and plumbing to ensure they are not overflowing or leaking.
  • Report spills or dangerous conditions.
  • Coordinate salt bag waste and pallet disposal
  • Follow RCRA HAZMAT disposal where applicable


  • Perform Batch Tracking:
  • Record each batch into the batch sheet and then into SAP.
  • Collect samples for quality checks: Acquire and store samples for initial quality analysis and retain samples.
  • Submit fertilizer samples for analysis and quarantine finished fertilizer until test results have been returned.
  • Determine test results: Release inventory that has past testing and rework/dispose of off-quality inventory.
  • Keep track of instrument readings and document: Volume, flow rate, temperature, pH, concentration, and other physical process variables.



  • Measure ingredients being added to production vessels and blend fertilizer and chemicals according to specifications and work order instructions.
  • Mechanical Skills: Responsible for operating chemical plant machines and entire chemical processes. Monitors instrumentation, adjusts valves, read gauges and meters at regular intervals, operates multiple unit operations (e.g., pumps, augers/screws, belts, tanks, etc.).
  • Controller Proficiency: Operate panelboards, control boards, semi-automatic equipment, and automatic equipment.
  • Operate basic hand and power tools, specialty machinery to fabricate, manufacture, assemble, or move products.
  • Assist with startup, shut down, and operation of processes and equipment; perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment.
  • Adjust machines as needed for changeovers, different functions, or other varying needs of production.


  • Fill fertilizer into totes, barrels, tanks, and tankers.
  • Properly label barrels, totes, and other types of containers filled with finished fertilizer product.
  • Wash out totes/barrels after mixing different parts of the fertilizer blend.
  • Retrieve containers for filling.


  • Respond to and appropriately addresses process and equipment upsets.
  • Identify possible or current operating problems and recommend action to resolve any deficiencies in rate, quality, or mechanical operation.
  • Perform troubleshooting to identify and resolve all issues efficiently.
  • Complete e-maintenance tickets for equipment and facility issues.


  • Perform periodic maintenance on all equipment: Fertilizer production and fertigation/nutrigation processes.
  • Test equipment for malfunctions and perform small to moderate repairs on machinery so damaged equipment is repaired according to required procedures and production specifications.
  • Conduct regular operational inspections to monitor equipment health, functionality, and identify operational defects.
  • Maintains warehouse, location grounds and equipment to acceptable company standards. Ensure equipment is operating properly, clean, and promotes a positive image of Trulieve.

Logistics and Inventory


  • Place raw material orders for fertilizer department as needed.
  • Manage shipments by following-up with submitted purchase requests and communicate any obstacles to the fertilizer production manager.
  • Calculate material requirements and collect appropriate materials.


  • Unload salt trucks and other raw materials ensuring that the received product quantity and quality are acceptable.
  • Sort and place materials and other items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, or product.


  • Assist in maintaining inventory records.
  • Fill out batch sheets manually and archive.
  • Complete process orders in SAP to convert raw materials into TruBlend fertilizer.
  • Transcribe batch sheets into Excel batch tracking spreadsheet for records retention.
  • Coordinate production shipments and complete Stock Transfer Order, STO/SAP Manifests.
  • Supply all drivers with Bills of Lading (BOL), Stock Transfer Orders (STO)/SAP Manifests, & SDS sheets.
  • Maintain company inventory to acceptable company standards.
  • Restock pallets of salts on the production floor.
  • Develop production schedule based on inventory availability and demand forecast.


  • Properly store finished product and stage barrels/totes for shipment.
  • Coordinate loading up drivers with fertilizer with Material Handlers and Fertilizer Production Team
  • Coordinate with material handlers and transportation about drivers and coordinating shipments.
  • Collect signatures and archive signed copies of BOLs and STOs/SAP Manifests.


  • Fulfill end-of-month inventory reporting requirements
  • Operate essential material handling equipment at the site (e.g., clamp truck, forklift, hand trucks, etc.).
  • Drive vehicle, loader, or forklift to transport items to and from warehouse or to pick up items from several locations.
  • Go to the hardware stores/other site locations for supplies in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Carries out orders from the Fertilizer Production Manager, Senior Plant Health Manager and Director of Cultivation.
  • Performs other duties as required and/or assigned in a timely manner.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • Having the experience and the right credentials is generally more important than a college education.
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must successfully complete a comprehensive background screening.
  • May have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Attention to detail is required.


  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 lbs to a minimum height of 5 feet and able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance.
  • Must have the physical stamina and strength to handle Heavy Equipment and Materials: Lift 100 pounds by bending and stooping; climb, stand, and move around on stairs, ladders, and platforms; twist, turn and bend. Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly.
  • Must be able to work seated/standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods of time, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stopping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, and use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch frequently/constantly to complete tasks.
  • Must have visual acuity with/without job aids to perform activities such as reading, viewing a computer terminal, visual inspection involving small parts/details. Clarity of vision at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions. Specific vision abilities required by this job include depth perception.

  • 40+ hours weekly with flexible hours depending on department needs. Must be available to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.
