Good Wednesday morning. It’s the last day of hurricane season. The political winds, meanwhile, are as stormy as ever, especially on some college campuses, which plan to give ‘sanctuary’ in the era of Hurricane Trump.

‘SANCTUARY CAMPUSES’ — “Florida university presidents, students engage in immigration debate,” by POLITICO Florida’s Jessica Bakeman: Florida’s public universities are getting involved in a national campaign to protect undocumented students and alumni in light of President-elect Donald Trump’s pledge to deport millions. Students at New College and Florida International University have started petitions urging administrators to declare their schools “sanctuary campuses.” The term is modeled after “sanctuary cities” — municipalities that have adopted policies to protect undocumented immigrants from deportation. http://politi.co/2gTeKSj

‘WUSSIFICATION’ At the University of Miami, college Republicans criticized the school for offering counseling to students coping with the “stressful” election’s aftermath. “Our Counseling Center Staff is here to listen and support you as our nation works through this election transition,” the university said. “We affirm our commitment to all students regardless of party affiliation and are keenly aware of the particular impact this election may have on members of our UM community.” This is the same university that chickened out by citing “security concerns” when it canceled a September appearance by Breitbart Tech editor/provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos.
