ORLANDO, Fla. (WCTV) — The Florida Classic in Orlando is FAMU’s biggest football game, featuring its rival, Bethune Cookman University.

The Florida Classic Weekend brings out thousands of people every year. There’s great football, fun, and food.

You can find all of that with the dozens of vendors set up all weekend long.

Students, staff, alumni, and even future Rattlers alike are all geared up for the excitement.

High School student Trinity Corker said, “I always go to every home game and every away game. Me and my dad, we get there. It’s been fun. I love it, I love FAMU. I’m ready to be a Florida A&M Rattler.”

Lt. Col. Greg Clark, the president of the FAMU Alumni Association, said, “As exciting as Holcomb was, we brought that to Orlando. It’s good to see the alumni base back in full force. I can feel the excitement in the air.”

The Classic isn’t all about football. FAMU held its biggest ever student recruitment fair Friday morning. More than 1,500 students were in attendance. Nearly $800,000 was given in scholarships over the weekend.
