Florida looking for players to step up
As the Florida Gators prepare to host Texas A&M on Saturday, third-year coach Jim McElwain is looking to a slew of players to step up this weekend. At receiver, 4-star sophomores Freddie Swain and Josh Hammond will need to carry the load with Tyrie Cleveland and Kadarius Toney both listed as doubtful for the game. The Gators’ young safeties will need to fill the void created by Nick Washington’s absence because of a shoulder injury. And fifth-year senior defensive end Jordan Sherit will look to once again lead a veteran defensive line.
In the latest edition of our weekly Sound Off we discuss how, for the time being, Florida’s goal of repeating as SEC East champions is still possible.
