Florida Competes in FSU XC Invitational on Friday

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida will compete in the FSU XC Invitational on Friday in Tallahassee at Apalachee Regional Park for its second of four meets this season.

The meet, which the Gators swept last season, will begin at 7:40 a.m. ET with the men’s 8,000-meter race (8k) followed by the women’s 5k race, set for 8:10 a.m.

Each race will have ten schools competing, five from the Atlantic Coast Conference and five from the Southeastern Conference.

Boston College, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia Tech and Miami will compete from the ACC while Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU (men’s race) and Mississippi State (women’s race) will represent the SEC.

Friday’s meet will not be open to spectators but the live results can be followed online.

They know the expectations that go along with putting on the Gator uniform and the level of commitment and toughness that represents. It will be nice to get a lot of our new folks some race experience and help us build toward our ultimate goal of competing for titles.”
