Recruiting picking up steam
The early signing period is two weeks away, which means new coach Dan Mullen and his staff are hitting the recruiting trails hard to shore up any loose ends. Tuesday was no different, with a wave of Florida recruiting news surfacing. The highlights:

In other Florida football news Men’s basketball viewed highly in Jay Bilas power rankings
Jay Bilas on Tuesday released the first edition of his Bilas Index, which ranks the top 68 teams in college basketball. Florida checked in at No. 5 overall and was the highest-ranked SEC team. Bilas’ thoughts on the Gators are below:
“Mike White has established himself as one of the nation’s elite coaches. His offense is powerful and downright fun. The Gators move the ball, cut hard and really use the 3-point line as a weapon. If Florida becomes a better defensive team, look out.”
The Gators, who are coming off an 83-66 loss to Florida State in which White said his team was “the epitome of soft,” will play Loyola Chicago on Wednesday. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. ET
Women’s basketball hosts ranked Ohio State
Fresh off a road win against Oklahoma, the Gators women’s basketball team (5-3) hosts No. 12 Ohio State (8-2) on Wednesday. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m. from the O’Connell Center.

A handful of Gators volleyball players — middle blockers Rhamat Alhassan and Rachael Kramer, outside
