Florida Ranked No. 9 in Oracle/ITA Preseason Rankings

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida men’s tennis program will begin the season as the No. 9 team in the country after the ITA announced its preseason rankings on Thursday.

The Gators come in as the highest-ranked team in the Southeastern Conference with Georgia and Texas A&M at No. 10 and No. 11 respectively.

Overall, UF is one of seven teams from the SEC in the top 25. Currently, Florida is scheduled to play nine schools in the top 25 and could potentially play a 10th in No. 6 Texas at the ITA Kickoff Weekend in Austin, Texas.

The ITA also released its singles and doubles rankings on Wednesday.

Sam Riffice (No. 8), Duarte Vale (No. 12), Blaise Bicknell (No. 68), Andy Andrade (No. 85) and Lukas Greif (No. 96) all checked in inside the top 125 in singles to begin the year while the duo of Sam Riffice and Duarte Vale are ranked No. 45 in doubles.

The Gators are set to begin their season this weekend as they’ll play host to FAU on Saturday and USF on Sunday with both matches scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. ET. At the Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex.
