While Southern Miss is excited to play a program like Florida State in the Walk-On’s Independence Bowl, the Seminoles say they will be ready to go as well when the game kicks off on December 27th.

It’s been a wild month for FSU as Jimbo Fisher departed for College Station.  The Seminoles introduced former Oregon head coach Willie Taggart as their new leader, but will be led in the bowl game by interim head coach Odell Haggins.

Haggins won his first game in charge and plans to have his team ready for their first trip to Shreveport, “The kids are excited.  They are used to going to the Orange Bowl, Fiesta Bowl, Rose Bowl, this is the bowl we are playing in.  It’s the task ahead of us, playing Southern Mississippi.  We’re going to have fun as a team, as a family.  We’re going to practice well and be ready for a bowl game.”

The Seminoles will take on the Golden Eagles at 12:30pm on December 27th.
