Florida women claim title at Arturo Barrios Invitational
Gators log five top-20 performances in final regular season meet; Men take 10th.
COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Florida Gators women’s cross country team are bringing the Arturo Barrios Invitational title back to Gainesville following five top-20 performances and six personal records on Saturday.
Junior Jessica Pascoe clocked a 20:04.3, which was an 18-second personal best. She adds a runner-up finish to her two individual titles from the previous meets.
Redshirt junior Elisabeth Bergh logged a 6th place finish, while senior Caitlin McQuilkin-Bell, redshirt senior Morgan Hull and freshman Imogen Barrett rounded out the top-five with personal records of their own. Freshmen Gabrielle Wilkinson and Grace Blair also posted their first 6k races as Gators and finished as the sixth and seventh runners for the Gators (60th and 79th).
The Gators were five of the eight SEC runners in the top-20.
For the men, redshirt sophomore Colin Schaefer led the way for the Gators. He finished 22nd with a 25:03.6. He was the only Florida men’s runner in the top-25. Redshirt junior Jack Guyton finished 29th and Magnus Pettersen claimed 54th. Freshman Trevor Foley, who competed in his first collegiate meet for the Gators, finished 103rd with a 26:17.8 and a late addition to
