What is a Marijuana ID Card?
A Florida Marijuana ID Card is a Medical Marijuana Use Registry identification card issued by the state that allows qualified patients access to medical cannabis products from licensed Medical Marijuana Treatment Centers. Access to these are allowed by getting a recommendation from a certified doctor. When a patient has obtained a med card they are allowed to enter medical marijuana dispensaries to purchase CBD & THC products in a variety of available forms.
How Do I Get One?
To qualify for a Florida marijuana ID card, patients that are FL residents, full or part time, are 18 or older, or have parental consent, and have a diagnosed qualifying condition need to get a recommendation from a qualified ordering physician.
The certified medical cannabis doctor will login to register the patient with the Medical Marijuana Use Registry, formerly the Compassionate Use Registry, after agreeing that medical cannabis is an effective beneficial treatment option for a diagnosed qualified debilitating medical condition.
How Much Does It Cost?
The cost to visit a doctor for an initial visit is between $150 and $250. This will typically carry a patient for 210 days, revisiting the doctor for a renewal in the 6th or 7th month. The follow up price ranges between $100 and $200.
After receiving a doctors recommendation from a Florida doctor, patients can login to the Office of Medical Marijuana Use website at mmuregistry.flhealth.gov to complete the electronic application. After completion, the processing fee price is $75 paid to the Office of Medical Marijuana Use online or by mail.
A $2.75 convenience fee is charged for each online payment. The cost to change information, replace or surrender your marijuana ID card is $15 and can be done by filling out the Change, Replacement or Surrender Request form. Physical application and payments can be mailed to:
