The business is a “blue-collar” manufacturing-based operation oriented workplace and the ideal candidate will have experience working in a like or similar environment.
We are looking for an experienced Flower Production Manager to organize and oversee the manufacturing of our Flower products. You will be ultimately responsible for the Safety, Quality and Productivity of all Flower production employees, lines, and output of product over multiple shifts. You will also work with the curing department to make sure that there is an ample supply of flower for both the pre-roll and flower production areas.
We expect you to have significant know-how in production processes and procedures for GMP certified manufacturing. The ability to direct personnel towards maximum performance is required. Must possess a strong decision-making and problem-solving ability.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Ensures equipment operates in a safe and efficient manner
Achieves and reports 5S standards for equipment and production area
All employees are safety aware
Ensures training for all safety related activities has been completed
Establish and maintain compliance to current GMP, safety programs
Communicate any safety issues from the shift
Ensures all quality systems are being followed in cooperation with the Quality Manager
Ensures quality measures and KPI are in control
Ensures compliance with necessary cGMP standards and Governing agencies
Direct management of the Shift Lead employees. Ensures DDS between shift changes.
Builds/maintain systems with planning, batching, filling, shipping, and maintenance departments to ensure meeting daily goals and KPIs’ for production.
Establish staffing requirements for the Flower Production team to achieve compliance in meeting scheduled workloads.
Ensure that corporate policy is followed in reference to all personnel or environmental issues.
Understand and respects Safety, Quality and Operation measures to KPI linkage
Ensure all basic operations needed with equipment and manual processes to have area operating according to standards.
Leads improvement events
Proposes/implements continues improvements in the production areas.
Complete RCPS (Root Cause Problem Solving) and action plans as required
Establish workflow policies that enhance speed and efficiency without compromising product safety or integrity
TAR (Total Accident Rate) for the Shift.
Quality Assurance Rate
% of RFT, % of FPQ for the shift.
Units produced, Weights per hour and # of units made.
% Adherence to Weekly Production Plan.
Knowledge / Abilities / Skills
Understands Measures and KPI to achieve company goals
Interpretation of equipment and product data (i.e. run charts, bar charts, paretos)
Solid root cause problem solving capability (identify to root cause)
Basic Lean principles and tools including 5S, Standard Work and Sustainability
Process ownership as defined by department (i.e. Safety, Quality, Production)
Change Leadership Principles
Understand and lead site safety policies and procedures within department
Must be able to identify and immediately communicate to HR any incidents that may require disciplinary actions.
Ability to maintain accountability for training of processes
Implement Work Instructions and OPLs as required and set accountability standards.
Good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
Basic Leadership skills (Effective communication, coaching/giving feedback, conflict management)
Work in a team-based environment (shared ownership and responsibility)
Ensure direct reports are working towards successful completion of their KPIs
Run the Annual Performance appraisal program with the direct reports
Strong organizational skills (time and physical area)
Computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP)
Take ownership of critical KPIs and develop action plans to improve.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday. Occasional Weekend work is required.
4+ years’ experience in manufacturing operations
1+ years’ experience in a supervisory capacity
Bachelor’s degree required
Excellent project management skills
Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations
GMP manufacturing experience
Ability to coach and mentor employees on a one-on-one basis as well as in a group
Proficient in the use of personal computers to perform daily work. Familiar with the Microsoft Office suite of programs and MRP systems. SAP and Agile experience preferred.
Superb communication skills, including written and verbal instruction.
Ability to pass a Level 2 Background check
