WHAT HAPPENED: Florida kept its streak alive on Tuesday with a 4-2 win over Florida State in the second Fresh from Florida Sunshine Showdown of the season.
The Gators have now won 10 in a row against the Seminoles.
It was a pitchers’ duel through four innings until the Gators broke through in the fifth. After Jud Fabian reached on an error, Austin Langworthy doubled into the left field corner to bring home Fabian for a 1-0 lead.
UF starter Nolan Crisp allowed just one hit through his first five innings, retiring 14 batters in a row until the Seminoles got to him in the sixth. After a leadoff walk, Mike Salvatore gave FSU a 2-1 lead with a home run to right field.
Florida answered in the seventh inning with three runs to regain the lead. The rally started with a one-out walk to Fabian and continued after Brady Smith reached on an error. An infield single by Jacob Young forced an errant throw that allowed Fabian to score the tying run.
