GAINESVILLE, Fla. – For the fourth time through its first five conference games the University of Florida women’s basketball team will take on an AP Top 25 opponent, as the Gators travel to No. 17 Arkansas Thursday for a matchup with the Razorbacks at Bud Walton Arena.
Tipoff is slated for 8 p.m. ET and will be streamed live on SEC Network+.
When the teams tip Thursday, Florida will become the only SEC team to take on four AP Top 25 opponents in its first five league bouts. A season ago Florida battled 10 AP Top 25 foes, its most in a regular season since the 2001-02 campaign.
UF last took the court Sunday when it fell in a contested matchup at UGA, 68-58. Florida got off to a strong start and led 20-16 after the first quarter but could not slow down the Lady Bulldogs in the end who improved to 10-1 on the season. UF employed a 9-0 run late in the fourth to draw the score back to within eight at 66-58 after trailing by as many as 17 but the offensive flurry and rally came too late. Lavender Briggs led the way with 16 points.
