Gators Jump In National Polls

The Gators’ victory over Georgia boosted their stock in the national rankings as expected.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida’s win over SEC East rival Georgia on Saturday boosted the Gators in the eyes of pollsters.

Florida jumped two spots to No. 6 in the AP Top 25 on Sunday, its highest ranking since reaching No. 3 earlier this season prior to a loss at Texas A&M on Oct. 10. Meanwhile, the Gators jumped three spots to No. 5 in the Amway Coaches Poll. Alabama moved to No. 1 in both polls after Clemson’s loss at Notre Dame on Saturday night.

The Gators moved into the driver’s seat in the SEC East race with their 44-28 win Saturday at TIAA Bank Field over the Bulldogs, who dropped from fifth to 12th in the AP poll.
