Gotham dispensary signs lease at Domino Sugar Refinery – The Real Deal

The redeveloped Domino Sugar Refinery is getting into the weeds. 

Cannabis dispensary Gotham signed a 10-year lease for 4,000 square feet of the ground floor at 300 Kent Avenue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, at the converted Domino Sugar refinery, Commercial Observer reported. 

Gotham is a licensed retail cannabis dispensary that has been in operation less than one year, and is led by angel investor Joanne Wilson. It opened its flagship location at 3 East Third Street in the East Village last year with nonprofit partner Strive. 

The Williamsburg property is Gotham’s second location. Wilson told the Observer it was a “dream location.” 

Landlord Two Trees Management did not disclose the rent. Market rent in the Williamsburg area can range from $88 up to $240 per square foot, according to LoopNet data. Two Trees’ Bonnie Campbell served as the broker for both sides.

The 150-year-old Domino Sugar factory is distinct from many other retail locations, with its 460,000-square-foot glass dome, retro “Domino Sugar” sign and stunning views of Manhattan. 

When Two Trees Management purchased the Domino property in 2012 for $185 million, it originally intended it for condo development, but switched to Class A office space, The Real Deal reported at the time.
