IPM Supervisor – Curaleaf – Homestead, FL

Summary: This position will manage the treatment and scouting of all plant pests. The IPM Supervisor will be ultimately responsible for applying all pesticides and deploying all beneficial insects in a safe, organized, and effective manner that is compliant with all FL state laws and regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Develop a comprehensive Integrated Pest Management plan for the facility using approved pesticides, beneficial insects, and biocontrol agents
  • Manage and train a team of IPM technicians that will be responsible for applying all compounds in a safe and effective manner
  • Routinely scout for all plant pests, generating treatment maps for all IPM technicians to follow
  • Generate work orders for proper chemical mixing and to track every pesticide application
  • When necessary, work closely with the fertigation team to inject drench materials into the fertigation system to control root pests
  • Manage the cleaning and routine maintenance of all application equipment and sprayers
  • Ensure that proper REI notifications are disseminated to the facility and posted where appropriate
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with all cultivation staff to ensure the spray and drench applications do not disrupt routine cultivation operations
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Must log all pesticide applications according to Curaleaf standards and the State of Florida
  • Maintain FL Pesticide Applicators License

Education and/or Experience

  • Associates Degree is required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Botany, Agriculture, Ag Business, Environmental Science, Ecology, Soil Science, Horticulture or similar degree preferred
  • Hold a Pesticide Applicator License in the State of Florida or have the ability to gain licensure within two months of joining Curaleaf
  • Three to five years of management experience.
  • One to two years’ experience growing cannabis in a regulated facility preferred
  • Previous experience in a licensed cannabis production facility preferred
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Ability to comply with established safety standards
  • Experience effectively using computer systems, software, and hardware
  • Subject to background check per state cannabis regulations
  • Must be able to work in a challenging fast-paced environment while maintaining a strong attention to details
  • Ability to train co-workers
