Machine Operator Assistant Lead (Trim)

Role Summary:

The Machine Operator Assistant Lead will assist the Trim department Lead in handling and overseeing the daily equipment operations. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, advanced technological skills, and the skillsets to assist in training and overseeing new employees. We are looking for an experienced employee to support in leading a team that can support each other to further Trulieve?s continued success.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Become proficient in the setup, adjustment, and operations of all equipment in the Trim department
  • Assist in training and mentoring newly hired employees on the safe and efficient operation of equipment
  • Aid in tracking daily productivity by generating reports, work orders, and other required documents and delivering these items to their Lead on a daily basis
  • Support department Lead in ensuring a team of 10 employees are able to achieve daily tasks/needs while completing all required records/files
  • Ability to assist in evaluating and maintaining departmental inventory for accuracy and compliance within state regulations
  • Assess the efficiency and productivity of internal staff in order to make recommendations for improvement to department Lead
  • Support in other departmental duties as assigned


  • Preferred experience as an equipment trainer or technician in an industrial manufacturing environment or equivalent setting
  • Knowledge and understanding of local and state regulations with an emphasis on continual learning and sharing of knowledge with the team
  • Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical theory and troubleshooting
  • Experience in troubleshooting control/low voltage systems
  • Well versed in maintenance safety protocols including PPE and LOTO
  • Ability to identify unsafe situation and work with personnel onsite to mitigate risks
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent computer skills, Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.
  • Strong time management skills, driving efficiency and productivity to ensure goals are meet consistently and high-quality control


  • High school diploma required, Completion of Trade School, Apprenticeship, or relevant Military Experience highly preferred
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
  • Must have valid Florida Driver?s Licenser or ability to obtain one
  • Must successfully complete a comprehensive background screening


  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 lbs. to a minimum height of 5 feet and able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance
  • Must be able to work seated/standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods of time, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stopping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, and use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch frequently/constantly to complete tasks
  • Must be able to handle organic matter daily, able to wear PPE as appropriate (eye, face, hand, arm, head, foot, body, fall protection), and able to be exposed to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions while wearing PPE (95 degrees or greater)
  • Must have visual acuity with/without job aids to perform activities such as; reading, viewing a computer terminal, visual inspection involving small parts/details. Clarity of vision at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions
  • Must be able to speak and communicate verbally at conversation levels with co-workers, vendors, etc. (Moderate noise)


  • 40+ hours weekly with flexible hours depending on department needs. Must be available to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays
