10. I said all last week that I knew there was a path out there for Florida to win at LSU, but it was hard to find. Anyone who had a machete found that path and it was the usual one. The opponent has to turn the ball over, you have to capitalize, hit a big play, win the line of scrimmage, get some breaks. All of these things added up to the win for the Gators and one of the biggest parties in the stands I’ve ever seen on the road. The biggest takeaway from this game is where Jim McElwain has this team heading and how much he has it believing in their own abilities. It’s not a great team — Florida was outgained by 153 yards Saturday, allowed 23 first downs and, if you take away the 98-yarder, had only 46 yards passing, But it is a great TEAM.
11. I’ve been asked many times about where that finish rates and where that game rates in the history of Florida football. National titles always rate the highest, then SEC titles. So we’re talking about where this rates in terms of regular-season games. It is definitely in the top five, maybe top three.
