‘Tis the season for giving, and the Pasco County Tax Collector’s Office is in spirit.

Headed by Mike Fasano, the entity raised over $8,000 for Pinellas-Pasco charity Nourish to Flourish.

Founded by area public defender Bob Dillinger and wife Kay Dillinger in honor of their late daughter Beth Dillinger, the charity aims to provide food for the estimated 7,000 chronically hungry children in the local area.

The money raised by Fasano and team is expected to provide 1800 meals.

“I want to thank tax collector Mike Fasano and his incredible staff for raising over $8,000 to feed chronically hungry children in Pasco County,” said Bob Dillinger.

There are no administrative costs at Nourish to Flourish, so all of the money raised will directly benefit hungry children. Dillinger said, “Citizens of Pasco should be proud of this unique way to help charities.”

Fasano applauded the Dillingers for their efforts and thanked local citizens for their contributions.

“I have always believed that no child should go home hungry on weekends and have supported programs that address this need,” Fasano said. “Nourish to Flourish is one of the most respected child hunger programs in our community. I would like to thank every customer who visited our office or mailed in a donation this past November in support of this fine charity.”

Nourish to Flourish is a part of the Beth Dillinger Foundation, a nonprofit organization that “provides support and education to youth in need.” Among other chartiable means supported by BDF: The Beth Dillinger Scholarship Fund, Beth’s Closet, Beth’s Corner and The Hope Chest.
