Following months of widespread critical acclaim and surprising box office success, Moonlight continued its impressive awards streak at the 2016 Gotham Awards in New York City on Monday night.

The coming-of-age drama, directed by Barry Jenkins, took home the top prize for Best Feature, as well as Best Screenplay, the Audience Award, and the Ensemble Cast Award.

Mahershala Ali was on hand to accept the awards on behalf of the cast and crew, alongside co-stars Trevante Rhodes, André Holland, Naomie Harris, Alex Hibbert, Ashton Sanders, and Jaden Piner.

Other honorees included O.J.: Made in America, which was named Best Documentary, and Casey Affleck, who won for his starring role in Manchester by the Sea.

French actor Isabelle Huppert bested awards-season frontrunner Annette Bening for top actress for her work in the dramatic thriller Elle.

Organized by the Independent Film Project and hosted by comedian Keegan-Michael Key, the festivities also featured special tributes to Amy Adams, Ethan Hawke, Oliver Stone, and producer Arnon Milchan. ~Shelby Morton
