NJCAA No. 10/ FCSAA No. 3 College of Central Florida volleyball team improved to 2-0 after a 3-1 road win at Florida State College at Jacksonville on Saturday afternoon.

The Patriots got off to a slow start, dropping the first set 23-25. Sets two, three and four were a different story as they held the Blue Wave to a combined 35 points to defeat FSCJ 23-25, 25-11, 25-11, 25-13.

Marina Cruz (12 kills), Buse Ene (11 kills), Veronica Brod Farias (nine kills) and Taynan Paiva (eight kills) led the offensive attack for CF. CF’s front row combined for 14 blocks.

Julia Cardoso recorded her first double-double as a Patriot with 46 assists and 12 digs, while Nayrelis Pantojas notched 12 digs.

CF will take the week off before traveling to Idaho for the ever-tough College of Southern Idaho Invitational. The Patriots will play four games in two days, including national powerhouses Salt Lake Community College, College of Southern Idaho, and Northwest College.
