We’re seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to join our team. The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for sourcing equipment, goods and services and managing vendors. The successful candidate will be able to perform strategic procurement activities across multiple categories of spend, search for better deals and find more profitable suppliers. The Purchasing Manager must be a self-starter and team player with a proven track record of success with regard to achieving company goals and objectives in leading a purchasing department. The ideal Purchasing Manager will be an innovator and forward thinker with successful verbal and written communication skills to team members and vendors. Must be effective at leading and encouraging team members.
Supervises the purchasing staff and oversee daily activities
Leads initiatives and tracks measurable progress for all areas of purchasing/procurement/supply chain
Establish and maintain processes, procedures, and internal controls for all aspects of supply chain to improve workflow; streamline and consolidate activities across the business group sites; and drive use of optimized or best practices across responsible sites
Negotiate all supply chain vendor contracts/terms with optimal terms
Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power
Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking
Maintain the Trulieve approved supplier program
Manage the purchasing aspects of many diverse products and raw materials
Create transparency in supply chain through creating reports, dashboards and utilizing custom-built technology
Identify inefficiencies within supply chain department and inter-departmentally and implement solutions through use of technology
Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely, accurate and complete paper flow, material shipping and receiving; job completion and payables
Resolving problems with supplier delivery dates, receipt transactions and invoice discrepancies
Keeping team members informed of whereabouts of supplies at all times, product availability, shipping requirements, lead-times and forecasting needs
Work with cultivation and processing to maintain appropriate inventory levels
Work with finance to provide appropriate estimates for forecasting
Work with AP to resolve invoice discrepancies and exemptions
Identify vendor opportunities and challenges and partner with various departments to ensure appropriate resolution
Train other departments who are also in procurement on best practices
Provides ad hoc reports and special project assistance as needed
Must possess at least five years of purchasing manager experience preferably in an agriculture or horticulture or retail store background
Bachelor’s Degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration
Supply chain certification, preferred
Experience in Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement
A knack for negotiation and networking
Strong customer service orientation and communication skills
Strong leadership capabilities
Strong Excel knowledge and aptitude
Experience with a large ERP system (SAP preferred)
Ability to partner cross functionally with partners across an organization
Demonstrable problem-solving, quantitative, and analytical skills; strategic and critical thinking
Florida Driver’s License or ability to obtain one.
Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check.
Salary will be commensurate with experience and the range is $45k-$60k annually. A comprehensive benefits package including paid time off is offered with this position. This position will work an average of 40 hours per week and will be available “after hours” if an emergency situation should arise.
