Job Title: Receiving Clerk

Location: Alachua,FL

Role Summary:

The receiving clerk verifies and keeps records on incoming shipments by performing the following duties to quality and productivity standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Unpacks, examines, and routes incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Receives and processes all defective parts returned for replacement or credit.
  • Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Performs all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods.
  • Supports the received goods and supplies to be used in or to aid in the production/storage of goods destined for sale to our customer base.
  • Reports defective materials, damaged goods received, and questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
  • Responsible for keeping an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand at all times.
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
  • Receive products via packing list into the ERP system (SAP) and verify the packing list matches the shipment received.
  • All other duties as assigned

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of a high school education and one year of factory-related experience in receiving.
  • Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use simple math.
  • Receiving clerk experience in a production facility.
  • Familiarity with software programs used in this job preferred.
  • Experience in ERP software (SAP preferred)
  • Experience with receiving of goods and services
  • Good counting and verification skills are a must
  • Attention to detail and time management skills are a must
  • Good communication with purchasing regarding problematic receiving situations is a must


ADDITIONAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent education
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Must be able to successfully complete a comprehensive background screening


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 lbs to a minimum height of 5 feet and able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance
  • Must be able to work seated/standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods of time, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stopping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, and use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch frequently/constantly to complete tasks
  • Must be able to handle organic matter daily, able to wear PPE as appropriate (eye, face, hand, arm, head, foot, body, fall protection), and able to be exposed to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions while wearing PPE (95 degrees or greater)
  • Must have visual acuity with/without job aids to perform activities such as; reading, viewing a computer terminal, visual inspection involving small parts/details. Clarity of vision at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions
  • Must be able to speak and communicate verbally at conversation levels with co-workers, vendors, etc. (Moderate noise)


WORK SCHEDULE:

  • 40+ hours weekly with flexible hours depending on department needs. Must be available to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays
