Florida already has seven players set to miss its season-opener against Michigan in one week.
Add another to the hot water — and one more who appears to be in even deeper trouble.
Florida freshman receiver James Robinson and freshman outside linebacker Ventrell Miller were, per a report from FirstCoastNews, cited for marijuana possession on campus earlier this week.
Florida coach Jim McElwain told reporters via a statement that he was “aware” of the situation and it has been “dealt with.” Miller was one of the seven players who was already scheduled to miss the game due to suspension on another matter.
There is no word as to whether or not Robinson will be out, though, as he was reportedly still seen at practice earlier this week.
Robinson is facing his second marijuana mishap in less than a year as the former four-star recruit was cited for possession during a visit to Ohio State in January. Florida nearly pulled his scholarship offer over the incident, but ultimately opted to sign him.
It remains to be seen if he’ll be on the field when the Gators play Michigan on Sept. 2 in Texas.
