Reports: Nuggets' Porter out due to protocols

Denver Nuggets forward Michael Porter Jr. is expected to miss multiple games because of the NBA’s health and safety protocols related to COVID-19, according to multiple reports.

Porter was listed as out for Friday’s game against the Phoenix Suns on the NBA’s official injury report.

The Denver Post reported that Porter’s contact tracing began Thursday.

Porter, 22, is the Nuggets’ second-leading scorer and rebounder through their first four games this season, averaging 19.5 points and 6.8 rebounds.

The third-year forward has assumed a larger role with the Nuggets, who lost key wing players Jerami Grant and Torrey Craig in free agency before the season.
