Star of the game: Conquerors senior QB Legend Brumbaugh ran for Trinity’s first score and threw 25 yards for Isaiah Washington for its second as the hosts forced a continuous clock late in the third quarter in the Region 1-3A final. The Conquerors (9-3) will host Tampa’s Berkeley Prep (9-2) in the state semifinals next Friday.

Turning point: Trinity seized the momentum in the second quarter on an interception by Nyem Bozeman. Two plays later, Marcus Crowley picked up the first of his two rushing TDs to put the hosts up by three scores.

Fast facts: The Conquerors finished with 453 yards. … Trinity had 250 yards passing, with Brumbaugh picking up 161 and sophomore Austin Thomas 89, including a 65-yard TD strike to Dylan Pate. … Florida High (6-6) gained 261 yards but more than a third of those came in the fourth quarter. … Trinity senior kicker/punter Frankie Onate had nothing but touchbacks on kickoffs after the first one of the game and made a 38-yard field goal just before halftime.
