GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida’s big recruiting weekend has come and gone, and now it’s time for the Gators to make an impression with their play on the field.

They close the 2016 regular season with huge matchups at LSU and Florida State, and winning one or both of those games would certainly grab the attention of UF’s key targets.

Here are the top five questions from this week:

Chances of Auburn commit Tray Bishop flipping to Florida since he wants to play safety?

He’s one of the recruits I feel most confident about Florida landing after talking to him following his visit last Saturday.

Bishop could not hide or hold back his enjoyment from the game and was smiling throughout our entire interview. He’s clearly enamored with Gators and the prospects of playing safety in their secondary.

Bishop, a 4-star athlete from Dawson, Ga., who committed to Auburn as a quarterback, said the Tigers — as well as Georgia — will give him the option to be a defensive back. But my impression was that Florida is the school he wants to play that position at.

The Gators need to sign at least one safety in the Class of 2017, and right now Bishop is their best bet. Brad Stewart, a 4-star recruit from New Orleans, could play either cornerback or safety in college and I think UF will land him.

What are the chances of flipping Alex Leatherwood from Alabama?

I’m not expecting it to happen, but Florida has a much better shot than it did prior to his visit last weekend. The 5-star tackle from Pensacola, Fla., was impressed with the Gators’ 20-7 over South Carolina and saw their need for him on the offensive line.
