WAUKEGAN, IL — Starting on Memorial Day, a cannabis dispensary near Naval Station Great Lakes is expanding its military and veteran discount.
The first Planet 13 dispensary in Illinois opened last year at 4000 Northpoint Blvd, Waukegan. It is set to begin permanently offering 30 percent discounts for active duty and veterans of the U.S. military on Dogwalkers brand pre-rolled joints.
The dispensary also offers a 10 percent military discount on all other items.
“We deeply appreciate and honor our local veterans and active-duty military members and thank them for their sacrifice and service to this country,” Co-CEO Larry Scheffler said in a statement.
Scheffler and his fellow co-CEO, Bob Groesbeck, are both former politicians from Henderson, Nevada. They now operate the world’s largest cannabis dispensary, as measured by square footage, in Last Vegas. The brand also has outposts in Florida and southern California.
