SpaceX to launch 23 Starlink satellites from Florida

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — SpaceX plans to send up 23 Starlink communications satellites from Florida on Friday.

The company selected 9:22 p.m. for liftoff, according to the SpaceX website.

The Falcon 9 rocket will carry 23 Starlink communications satellites into orbit during Friday’s launch. It will be the 20th mission for that rocket.

Once Falcon 9 sends its payload into orbit, it will come back to Earth and land on the A Shortfall of Gravitas droneship stationed in the Atlantic Ocean.

Forecasters from Patrick Space Force Base said the launch has a less than 5% chance of being affected by weather conditions. If the launch is delayed, there will be two more launch opportunities on Saturday.
