‘Wow’: Florida fisherman spots ‘massive’ alligators fighting for territory

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A Florida fisherman came across some alligator antics while out on a trip in the Everglades.

On March 11, Captain Wes Bedell was out on the water when he spotted two “very aggressive” alligators in a fight.

Bedell said the “massive” alligators were fighting for territory, likely due to the impending mating season.

The fight started on land before the gators rolled into the water.

According to Bedell, the gator who won the fight appeared to still hold his new turn weeks after the altercation.

“I see him every day,” Bedell said. “This is their mating season. They are very aggressive.”
