130 new dispensaries could open in Ohio to sell recreational marijuana – The Columbus Dispatch

Ohio could see 130 new recreational marijuana dispensaries open in the coming months.

The Division of Cannabis Control received hundreds of applications over the past week from medical marijuana businesses that want to enter the adult-use market. The state accepted applications for two types of licenses:

Dual-use: This will allow existing medical cannabis businesses to grow, process and sell recreational marijuana at their current facilities.10(B): These licenses are available to medical operators that want to open additional dispensaries. Large cultivators can apply for three dispensary licenses at new locations, while smaller growers get one. Medical dispensaries that aren’t affiliated with a cultivator or processor are eligible for another dispensary license.
