Brew Review – The Beholders by Mythk Brewing

Keeping an intentionally mysterious and esoteric public facade on social media is great for building a brand and street cred, but it does make it hard to write a blog post.

Here we are with Mythk Brewing, a quasi-Norse, slightly dark gypsy brewer based in the Tampa Bay area.

Do I know almost anything about them? Not at all. But oddly enough, there was something about looking at their beers that rang familiar to me.

And after very little digging, I knew exactly what it was.

The imagery they have chosen, even down to the word art for their logo, is very Ancient World, a place where gods and demons inhabited the same circles as basic humanity. And while I see no discernible connection as of yet, it instantly reminded me of Barley Mow, a long since departed brand based in Largo that celebrated and supported the arcane.

Wouldn’t you know, Mythk’s beers are, at this time, contracted by Joey Redner’s Commerce Brewing project, a large contract brewing facility that just happens to be housed in the same production facility Barley Mow used.
