Florida police agency warns of viral ‘Senior Assassin’ game

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A Florida police agency is warning community members of a “viral” game that may potentially “instill fear among the public.”

On April 12, the Satellite Beach Police Department announced on Facebook they had received “numerous calls from residents, who are witnessing individuals dressed in hoodies or masks, sneaking around their neighbor’s homes.”

However, officers learned that the individuals were high school seniors who were playing a viral social media game, “Senior Assassin,” in which they sneak up on classmates.

The police department said its officers respond to each 911 call without knowing if the incident was students having fun or if a crime was occurring.

“Our officers respond to each of these 911 calls without knowledge of whether this is an incident of students just having fun or an actual crime is about to be committed,” SBPD wrote. “We would like to remind the community that the sight [of] firearms, whether real or fake, may instill fear among the public.”
