O.J. Simpson was once a Florida man

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — O.J. Simpson, a former NFL star who was acquitted of murder in one of the most well-known trials in history, died on Wednesday, but the controversial figure had ties to Florida, living in the state in the early 2000s.

Simpson was ordered to turn himself in in June 1994 for the deaths of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and a friend, Ronald Goldman. But instead, he would lead police in an infamous slow-speed chase in a white Ford Bronco along California highways.
