Weed dispensary shut down in Queens was run out of a school bus: DA – PIX11 New York News

QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) — An unlicensed mobile weed dispensary marketing products to children was shut down in Sunnyside, Queens County District Attorney Melinda Katz announced Friday.

Anthony Stevens, 62, ran his business from a converted school bus and used packaging that included names of well-known candy, including Skittles, Gummy Sharks, and Jolly Ranchers.

Stevens operated the dispensary called “The Green Empress” on the corner of 43rd Street and Queens Boulevard, prosecutors said.

The truck was impounded following the execution of a court authorized search warrant.

Stevens was charged with unlawful sale of cannabis, unlawful possession of cannabis, and criminal possession of cannabis. He was issued an appearance ticket to appear in court on July 2.
